Bio: Sandra Kleven's work has appeared in Cirque, Alaska Quarterly Review, Oklahoma Review, Topic Magazine, f-zine and the anthology Cold Flashes: Literary Snapshots of Alaska. Poems soon in Praxilla and Stoneboat. Kleven's book for children, The Right Touch, was the winner of a Benjamin Franklin Award. Kleven claims Northwest poets of the 1950s, as influences, and last year produced the film, "To the Moon: A Tribute to Theodore Roethke." She's been awarded two Celebration Foundation grants for creative work. Washington State and Alaska are both home to Kleven, who now completes an MFA in Creative Writing at the University of Alaska, Anchorage.
